Fire District Elections and Your Tax Dollars

The Governor and our Board of Education changed the date of Board of Education elections and budget approval to November. This saves the Township $45,000, but what about the Fire Districts? The annual election for the Board of Fire Commissioners will be on Saturday, February 18. The taxpayers will also be asked to approve the 2012 Fire District budgets. The date is mandated by the State, but can you think of a worse time to hold an election. (Read More)
