Statement on CBAC Review of Jackson Recreation

The Jackson Citizens Budget Advisory Committee (CBAC) has been asked by Council to address concerns raised by a former employee relating to recreation programs in our community. The CBAC, whose members are appointed by Council, has historically acted as a non-partisan, volunteer group to review issues relating to the Budget and Township finances and the independence of their recommendations and analysis has never come into question before today.

I read the articles "municipal budget is to lean" and "Jackson Officials abandon proposal to hike fees" along with the accompanying Comments in the Asbury Park Press. It appears that Raymond Cattanar and Peter Grzlak are laying the ground work for entering the race for seats on the Town Council.

Both are leaders of the Jackson Tax Payer Association [are there any other members?]. Mr. Grzelak has attacked the "Council Budget Committee" [ I assume he means the Citizens Budget Advisory Committee] and 2 of the Jackson Republican Club endorsements.

It will be interesting to see if Mr. Grzelak who has endlessly been against equal bathroom facilities for young woman and Mr Cattonar who has championed bankruptcy for Jackson can raise the dollars and gather the support to mount an effective campaign.

Bowman Road Bridge

As a resident that id affected daily by this bridge being out I would loke to better understand how the county allowed this bridge to fall into such disrepair. The failure of the bridge structure is being blamed on the huricane, but it is really 30 years of neglect and an antiquated structural design that is to blame. (Read More)
