JACKSON- Each year, 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer worldwide. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.

“Cancer is the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada. Sadly we recent laid to rest a young boy, taken from us way too soon due to this horrific disease, so it is always an honor for me to help the kids in any way I can to find ways to fight this disease,” said Mayor Mike Reina, who registered as a shavee for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser event held on Sunday, June 10th at County Line Hardware.

Marty and Sheila Flemming, owners of County Line Hardware, Mayor Mike Reina, members of the community, fire fighters, first aiders, and radio celebrity Dennis Malloy had their heads shaved for this worthy cause. The last tally that Mayor Reina was aware of was approximately $25,000, which had been raised at this event.
